What is the Coppell Chronicle?

The Coppell Chronicle by Dan Koller is a weekly newsletter that aims to be a resource for residents of Coppell as well as the neighboring cities within the Coppell Independent School District. I watch every meeting of the Coppell City Council, the Coppell ISD Board of Trustees, and the Coppell Planning and Zoning Commission, because you don’t have time for all that.

Who is Dan Koller?

I was an editor at The Dallas Morning News from 2000 to 2008, and I led the newsroom at Park Cities People and its affiliated newspapers from 2008 to 2014. During that span, the staff of People Newspapers were honored multiple times by the Texas Press Association and the Local Media Association.

My family moved to Coppell in December of 2012. Since then, I’ve been a Coppell Baseball Association coach, a Cub Scouts Pack 857 Den Leader and Cubmaster, a member of two Coppell ISD facilities planning committees, and a candidate for the Coppell ISD Board of Trustees.

What do subscribers say about the Coppell Chronicle?

  • “It’s really well-written with facts, all sides of an issue, and some light witty humor!” — May Olson

  • “It is so informative and useful for knowing so much of what is going on around town.” — Angela Webster

  • “We all loved the Citizens’ Advocate, but you are taking local news to a whole new level. Why anyone in our city doesn’t subscribe is a head-scratcher. Local politics and government has a far bigger impact on my life than anything that comes out of Washington.” — Ken Kuehn

  • “I look forward to it every Sunday!” — Darla Mann
