Thank you so much for your research and links. While I will use your links to read and evaluate candidates, I also appreciate seeing the major city newspaper recommendations. Whether I agree with them or not it provides interesting food for thought.
I think it sets up a “I want to be right and pick the winner” versus a I want to be intelligent about who I vote for. Pushing this agenda and sending it out to your readers doesn’t seem like you respect our intelligence. Still love your chronicle!
I do not understand the thinking behind publishing the voting recommendations. Don’t you think it would be better to encourage people to vote and do their own research? Who cares what the recommendations are!
The editorial boards across the state don’t always reach the same conclusion, but when they do, it’s another data point to consider. The people on these boards spend a lot more time thinking about elections than the average voter.
