Hah! There is absolutely nothing convenient about keeping my kid home from school this year. I’ve had to teach seventh grade, from grammar, to cotton’s impact on Texas to calculating percentages to the integumentary system, and don’t even get me started on Spanish 3. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Excellent wrote up on Rocky Feemster. My son now 28 played with his way back when at Coppell. Glad to hear he still is coaching and teaching. ⚾️⚾️

Tethering a dog or other animal outdoors 24/7/365 unattended is inhumane. The new “Tethering” ordinance does not ban tethering altogether (as some cities have done), but rather, it provides reasonable restrictions to protect the dog or other animal from ignorant, uncaring or abusive owners. As for pet dogs & cats “running at large”, intentionally (with owner knowledge) or unintentionally (without owner knowledge), well, that is a whole other matter indeed. Thankfully, 24/7/365 tethering will not be an option or solution to THAT ongoing problem within our city.

The City Manager..... yeah, hmm?

Masks. To wear or not to wear? There are wide and strong opinions on Covid-19, masks, vaccinations, variants, adults, kids, schools, teachers, in-person learning, at-home learning, etc. It all boggles the brain at times. Folks just have to make decisions on what is best for their family. There are plenty of options- perfect (convenient) or imperfect (inconvenient). Sigh.....

Rocky Feemster.... a winner in my book! :)

Love the baseball article and made me laugh out loud at some of the coaches words of wisdom. The game has gotten too serious at times and nice to see a coach adding some levity. Thank you Dan for another great edition of the Coppell Chronicle!

Good job, Mr. Koller. I really enjoyed the Rocky Feemster story - what a great guy who obviously loves kids and is willing to share his talent with them.

My daughter is in early childhood pre k at an elementary school here. The school did not want to honor her medical mask exemption after the board voted. I had to threaten to get an advocate and a lawsuit before they would allow it. I have many friends whose children are in the same boat with their medical exemptions not being honored. Can we address this?
