Thanks for keeping us up to speed on the elections. Any theories on why there are so many “off cycle” elections here? Dragged my hubby into vote yesterday and I have to again on May 24! Maybe a dumb question but we didn’t do this in Colorado!
Renee, I believe the conventional wisdom was that conducting municipal elections on a different schedule from partisan elections would keep the left-vs.-right politics out of the former. But as I've written recently, municipal elections have gotten fairly partisan all over Texas. ... In 2018, Coppell voters had an opportunity to vote in FIVE elections because one of our City Council races went to a runoff.
