Thank you for your informative and interesting updates of the happenings in our community. You mentioned that Southwestern would be under construction. Do you know if the DART line will run near Pinkerton? Could that be another reason to build a new Pinkerton?

The loss of this historic school would be sad, but might be necessary.

Donna, as I understand the plan, the Silver Line tracks will cross Southwestern to the west of Pinkerton and run right over the site of the soon-to-be-demolished Soto Automotive building. I’m not sure how that will affect the school district’s decision regarding the fate of our oldest school.

Pinkerton has a special place in my heart! I taught there for 9 years and my 2 oldest were Pinkerton Cowpokes before I moved to take on the exciting and challenging task of opening Wilson where my youngest child would start kindergarten.

1. Easement: Lol, oh my gosh! One can only imagine the 40 years worth of “stuff” that’s been intentionally or unintentionally built upon, placed within &/or just plain neglected along there. Can’t wait to hear the updates on this project! 2. Metrocrest Resale: Is this in Coppell? 3. SilverLine/Pinkerton: I know all about the Silver Line path, but are there really ideas or discussions about closing the current Pinkerton Elem! (I was there in the 70s).

Metrocrest Resale is in Carrollton, but its parent organization, Metrocrest Services, aims to serve residents of Addison, Carrollton, Coppell, and Farmers Branch. ... I theorized that Pinkerton's days may be numbered in this edition: https://coppellchronicle.substack.com/p/coppell-chronicle-vol-2-no-3?s=w

Ah, yes, thanks for refreshing my brain! Pinkerton has been added onto and revamped many times over the decades. One can only apply so much lipstick (and I say that very lovingly). Do you think the district will demolish and rebuild a new Pinkerton on that same property? Hmm? Please keep us posted! (I LOVE CC! 🙌🏻)
