It’s really difficult to get public notices when we have no official newspaper. Do you think the City of Coppell could place notices in your Chronicle?
Donna, the law says they have to be placed in a printed newspaper. Given the state of printed newspapers these days, I expect the Legislature to update that law soon.
I hope it’s updated soon. Although I still get both versions of The Dallas Morning News, most of my written info comes from subscribing to online news. I’m sure that’s true for most people
Dan - I was reading your article about a Antonio Rubén guitar, at the Coppell Police Department. The cops have had custody of the instrument for more than 30 days, and they’re going to auction it off —
Do you have information or have written an article of when the Coppell Police Department holds public auctions for this and other items that are not claimed within 30 days?
Lawrence, I published this in the Chronicle Crumbs section of a December 2021 edition: "If anybody on your Christmas list wants sunglasses, a bicycle, exercise equipment, an SUV, a pickup truck, picnic tables, an electronic sign for displaying traffic warnings, or 20 BlackBerry phones, then you might want to check out the auction the City of Coppell has going until Tuesday."
I'll put a full-blown article about these auctions on my to-do list.
Once again you made me smile and educated me all at the same time.
Donna, I was wondering the exact same.
Dan, did I miss where the CPD Auction is held?
BTW, Did you know that having Common Sense in today’s times actually means near Genius? 🤣
