Holy crap! Naming rights to a sports colosseum!?! This is big time, Dan! Just don't go the way of FTX on us. I have neither the time, nor the inclination, to attend Planning and Zoning Commission meetings, and yet I want to know if anything interesting is afoot. I need my local news fix.
Good grief. It’s unfortunate that a member seemingly voted for by name recognition only has contributed nothing more than being a disagreeable and disruptive member at every turn without real merit or cause, and no regard for following set Rules. I hope more qualified and constructive candidates are on the ballot in May and considered by more than a “name”.
I often was similarly curious about the traffic control officers. And am glad you were motivated to check it out. However, now I'm even more curious... if they are off-duty, then what powers do they have? They are in uniform and in patrol cars... but are they on just private traffic control duty for the businesses paying them? Or can they act and behave as if they're fully on duty and ticket, chase and arrest people?
Thank you for the news update. I was disappointed to read about a single
member causing controversy on our school board and not following g the rules it’s very disappointing.
Go Cowgirls!

A few years ago, the Texas Standard interviewed a retired officer who said the policies vary depending on the jurisdiction: https://www.texasstandard.org/stories/heres-what-to-do-if-an-off-duty-cop-confronts-you/
