Silver Line Running Behind Schedule • Plans for Banquet Hall Get Derailed • Pickleballers Want to Go Inside and Play • Candidates Lining Up for Elections
After publishing this edition, I remembered that Board of Trustees candidates Samit Patel and Ranna Raval are both members of the Bond Steering Committee. I edited the posted version accordingly.
The safety lessons at Life Safety Park, which you mentioned are 10 minutes at the beginning of the meeting are very valuable and really interesting. My book club has met there for two years and every single presentation has taught us something that we needed to know. I enjoyed them so much that I even scheduled a meeting at Life Safety Park of another club I’m in and asked Life Safety Park’s specialist to be our program! Several of the members wrote later to tell me how much they had enjoyed it.
Mr. Koller, thank you for taking the time to attend and report on all the events that affect our community. I look forward to receiving your highly informative emails with a side of humor.
With regards to the Silver Line and its related security issues, Mr. Landa's comment references "working with member cities' police departments." As a non-member city, where will that leave Coppell? Will our citizens bare the cost of protection without proper funding from DART?
I'm with Ms. Frey on the subject of DART. I distinctly remember when Coppell put it to a vote and we said "NO DART!" Unfortunately, that train has left the station, bad pun intended.
Virginia, that's a good question. I'll follow up at DART's next biannual community meeting for Coppell/Cypress Waters. We should have six more of those meetings before service begins at Cypress Waters Station.
Dan, thank you for your fantastic reporting. It’s an invaluable resource for our community.
On the CISD election for Seat 7, I was told that they are not currently accepting applications until after the school board officially calls the election. That’s expected to happen at Monday night’s board meeting, so that’s why they’re not taking applications until Tuesday morning.
AJ DeLaOsa, the Director of Community at Vari, tells me the relatively new VariSpace Coppell building at Freeport Parkway and State Highway 121 has several rooms available for meetings ranging from 5 people to 100 people.
A subscriber reminded me of the existence of Silver Star Event Center, which is on Denton Tap just north of the Coppell city limits: https://silverstarpartyhall.com/

LOVE your newsletter for the information you provide along with a laugh or two. Always.
The Coppell Senior and Community Center has space to rent.
Of course! How did I forget the senior center after mentioning it in the pickleball article?
Senior status wasn’t required there when we hosted an event, but my lovely wife signed me up as a registered senior to get a discount.
Also, wasn’t it PetCo next to Tom Thumb? And there’s already a pOpshelf in the Target shopping center in Lewisville.
Yes, it was a Petco. Good catch!

That makes sense.

Who knew!, and next door to a liquor store!
After this edition was published, a subscriber who would know told me to expect an announcement soon about a resumption of indoor pickleball.
