Hmm? I like your thinking Dan! It’s definitely “a can of worms” the City & CISD should consider! I agree with the fire chief’s logical proposal to return a fire station to Moore Rd so that the department can better serve residents within that (very built out) eastern sector of Coppell. Lastly, I attended Pinkerton Elem 50 years ago and fondly remember my favorite teacher- Mrs. Clayton, 3rd grade🍎. It would be a loss to Coppell seeing it shuttered away- I believe it’s worth saving for a variety of good reasons.

Best quote goes to “If y’all do close Pinkerton, y’all are never gonna sleep again, because the voices of those children are going to haunt you for the rest of your lives.” 😳

As soon as I heard that, I thought, "Oh yeah, that one's going to end up in my final draft."

Thanks again for another insightful edition. I am so glad there is someone willing to sit through/listen to long meetings and provide us with the nitty gritty. I also appreciate the updates on the comings and goings of local businesses. Would like an update on the possibility of Shipley Donuts coming to Coppell. Do I recall you writing some time ago about Shipley signing a lease for the space once occupied by Subway next to Papa John's in the Market Street area? Every time I go to Papa John's I hope to see the "For Lease" sign removed from the windows next door and a "Coming Soon" sign instead.

Re Shipley Donuts: Same here. I looked again yesterday afternoon, but there's nothing there yet. But the Shipley logo remains on the property owner's site plan: https://www.phillipsedison.com/property/texas/coppell/coppell-market-center
