Coppell ISD Sees No Need for Chaplains • Districts Approve Calendars for 2024-2025 • Council Greenlights Revised Memorial Plan • Irving Official Drops Big Hint About H-E-B
Of what faith/denomination is the chaplain supposed to be? I a glad that our trustees voted unanimously against appointing one. Mixing religion is all aspects of public life is now overt.
CORRECTION: When I reported that Senate Bill 763 says “a school district may employ a chaplain instead of a school counselor to perform the duties required of a school counselor,” I mistakenly quoted the bill’s first draft. The final draft actually says “a school district or open-enrollment charter school may employ or accept as a volunteer a chaplain to provide support, services, and programs for students as assigned by the board of trustees of the district or the governing body of the school.” I regret the error.
This sets a high bar for feedback attached to an unsubscribe request: “I love these weekly updates, but we moved to another state and reading them just makes me even more homesick for Coppell and Texas. Thanks for the great reporting!!!”

Congrats on your technical skills. My video worked fine. Congrats to CISD Trustees for their vote on chaplains.
