Great reporting. I’m wondering if the barricades in the parking lot of the Kroger on Sandy Lake and MacArthur mean they’re starting on the gas station. Hope so!

Thank you for another informative Chronicle. I appreciate your updates and follow-up reporting.

In my opinion, the parking on Ruby Road was not a problem on that wide road. ( I live near Wilson) I feel sorry for the people who will now have nowhere to park close to where they live. I thought the cars were workers at the Container Store.

Do you know the reason for the “No Parking”? Just curious.

This is from a memo to the council by Director of Public Works Mike Garza: “In recent years, an increasing number of vehicles from the mobile home community have been parking on both the north and south sides of Ruby Road, exacerbating visibility issues. This situation impacts not only the residents of the mobile home community, but also poses challenges for the employees and delivery trucks accessing The Container Store distribution center from the south side of Ruby Road. The parked cars hinder the maneuverability of delivery trucks, particularly impeding their ability to navigate turns in and out of the parking lot.”

I drive down that road multiple times a day and it was horrible. There have been times where I've had to back up to let a truck or school bus pass. I think the management at the mobile home park should be the ones trying to find parking for their residents.

$40,000 for a "pickleball feasibility study" Sounds like the council won't make up their mind. I'd imagine one or two courts could be built for that sum.

Sounds like someone's brother in law owns a consulting firm and they are giving them a job.

Exactly what I was thinking! Why not spend the $40K on building courts? All the city council has to do is go to Wagon Wheel on open play days to see how popular it is. Spending $40K on a study is outlandish. (For the record, I’m a recreational pickleballer and fall more in the tennis camp.)

Thank you for your great reporting. It’s encouraging reading some of the early decisions being made by our City Council.

Thank you City Council for pulling the plug on the Task Force’s ill-advised recommendation for using the grant for residential rehab. All grant and tax revenue should be used for administration expenses, compensating our public servants, infrastructure, police/fire, public works, etc which benefit Coppell citizens AT LARGE. Our city government is not a “charity”, acting as arbiters, and redistributing our tax revenue to individuals for the benefit of the few. That’s not our city government’s role/function and it’s a slippery slope we must not allow.

Thank you again Coppell City Council.

Giving grant money away to private citizens may not be as beneficial as projects that benefit the larger community. But the benefit of spending $40k on a pickleball study and $420k on a(nother) memorial is also highly questionable. Wouldn’t helping the local economy grow and/or saving citizens money be more preferable?

Will the Magnolia trail project connect the Denton Creek trail that now ends in Magnolia Park with the other park of the Denton creek trail that comes from the West by Windsor Road?
